This week, bookstores that participated in the American Booksellers Association’s ABACUS-18 survey received an e-mail with information about how to access a report analyzing their 2018 financial results.
With the strongest participation in years, more than 300 bookstores took part in this year’s financial benchmarking program, leading to one of the most robust ABACUS reports ever.
The e-mail with information about how to access results came on Wednesday, October 16, from Michael Becher of Industry Insights, the company assisting ABA in compiling and creating ABACUS. The subject line of the e-mail is “ABACUS-18 – results available.”
Any participating store that has not received its ABACUS report should contact Becher at (614) 389-2100, ext. 114, or firstname.lastname@example.org. (Before contacting Becher, booksellers are encouraged to check both their spam filter and with key staff members to see if they may have received it.)
Booksellers will be invited to log into the online ABACUS portal to review their customized report in addition to a range of reporting tools that provide a variety of specific analyses, allowing stores to evaluate performance versus similar companies and track their company’s performance over time against the industry results, among other criteria.
Watch BTW for more coverage of ABACUS-18.
Booksellers who have questions about ABACUS are invited to contact Becher or ABA’s Dan Cullen at email@example.com or (800) 637-0037, ext. 7560.
