Tomorrow, the American Booksellers Association’s IndieCommerce team will present “Web Accessibility and Your IndieCommerce Site,” a new webinar that will teach booksellers how to apply Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines to their IndieCommerce and IndieLite websites.

ADA imageWhile digital accessibility should be at the forefront of every IndieCommerce site, ADA guidelines can be difficult to understand, decipher, and put into practice in a real and meaningful way. In the webinar, to take place Thursday, October 25, at 5:30 p.m. EDT, booksellers will discover how to implement the guiding principles of digital accessibility by learning how to decode the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (the federal standard for digital accessibility) as well as how they can put some of those guidelines into practice on their IndieCommerce and IndieLite websites.

ABA’s webinar on ensuring ADA website compliance will be run by Art Frick, who has been designing and developing websites and multimedia collateral for a variety of companies, organizations, and institutions since 2004. He has worked with a diverse collection of organizations, including several small businesses, the University of New Hampshire’s Institute on Disability, and the Wikipedia Foundation. Since 2012, Frick has been providing training to ensure best practices and accessibility of online assets as well as developing policies, procedures, and technology solutions that advance equality in the digital space.
