Next week, the American Booksellers Association is heading to the New England Independent Booksellers Association (NEIBA) and Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association (PNBA) trade shows.

At all of this fall’s trade shows, ABA will present the education session “Maximizing Pre-Order Campaigns,” during which booksellers will discover ways to successfully promote and sell pre-orders to become an integral partner to publishers and authors, including new methods developed and tested by ABA’s Pre-Orders Task Force of indie stores. The session is open to both ABA members and nonmembers, and the PowerPoint presentation from the session will be posted on BookWeb at the culmination of the trade shows for all members to access.

Booksellers attending the NEIBA and PNBA trade shows can also register to meet one-on-one with members of the IndieCommerce staff to discuss or learn about ABA’s e-commerce platforms for indie bookstores, IndieCommerce and IndieLite. Stores that sign an IndieCommerce or IndieLite contract at the show will be entered to win their first year free.

Finally, ABA members have a chance to win a scholarship for Winter Institute 2019 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, by leaving a business card at the ABA Booth at the fall trade shows. One winner will be randomly selected at the end of the trade show season.

The NEIBA trade show takes place Tuesday, September 25, to Thursday, September 27, at the Rhode Island Convention Center, located at 1 Sabin Street, Providence, Rhode Island.
