Independent stores with Book Sense will be receiving the 2006 - 2007 Reading Group Picks list in the May Red Box. The full list, with bookseller quotes, can be previewed online now.

The Reading Group List -- created four years ago at the suggestion of independent booksellers -- has proven to be one of the most popular Book Sense lists. It is compiled from the nominations of booksellers participating in the Book Sense program, and it reflects the enthusiastic and knowledgeable suggestions they make to reading groups nationwide. ABA receives many requests for additional copies of the list from booksellers throughout the year, and stores report that part of the list's marketing clout is that it extends the reach of the Book Sense program into backlist inventory in paperback.

With an intriguing mix of fiction and nonfiction, the Reading Group List -- featuring a top ten that contains both compelling novels and arresting memoirs -- will interest a wide range of readers.

The Book Sense team at ABA extends many thanks to all the independent booksellers who participated in the formulation of the list for sharing their knowledge and passion, without which the compilation of the Reading Group Picks would not be possible.
