Winter Institute

Here, Teicher encourages booksellers to mark their calendars for the opening of Winter Institute registration, the upcoming fall regional trade shows, and ABA’s Principles of Bookstore Finance seminars.

Booksellers are encouraged to review the schedule when beginning to book travel. Registration for Winter Institute will open at 1:00 p.m. EDT on Monday, September 17.

Scholarships will cover the conference fee; up to four nights plus tax at a hotel in the ABA block; and transportation costs up to $400 for the January 22–25 event in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The 2019 Winter Institute, to be held January 22–25 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, will feature notable keynote presenters, 40 education sessions, author receptions, networking opportunities, and more.

Booksellers are encouraged to review the schedule when beginning to book travel for the January 22–25 event. Registration for Winter Institute 14 will open on Monday, September 17.

As the American Booksellers Association develops programming for the 2019 Winter Institute, booksellers are asked to share their thoughts about creating welcoming spaces in the #MeToo era.

To ensure every bookseller has the opportunity to apply for a scholarship to the 2019 Winter Institute, ABA has extended the application deadline to July 15.

Booksellers who are interested in applying for a scholarship to ABA’s 2019 Winter Institute can do so by filling out the Wi14 scholarship application form on BookWeb.

The application form is open for booksellers hoping to win a scholarship (which includes the conference fee plus lodging and transportation costs) to ABA’s 2019 Winter Institute in Albuquerque.

ABA’s Annual Membership Meeting will be held Thursday, May 31, from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the Javits Convention Center during BookExpo 2018. The Annual Meeting will be preceded by the Town Hall.
