Tickets are on sale now for the Annual Children’s Book Art Auction and Reception at BEA. The event, which this year honors author Judy Blume, will auction off hundreds of works of art donated by some of the top artists and illustrators working in the book industry today.

Publishers’ plans are taking shape for ABA’s Meet the Editor networking sessions at next month’s BookExpo America, but booksellers must preregister by May 11 for this exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the editing process.

ABA is encouraging member booksellers to make their reservations for this year’s Hotel ABA at BEA as soon as possible; the exclusive member rate is only available until May 1 or until the block sells out.

The last day for booksellers to have a say in choosing this year’s winners of the Indies Choice and E.B. White Read-Aloud awards is Tuesday, April 14.

Editors and publicists are preparing for Meet the Editor and Publicists Speed Dating, two networking events exclusively for ABA member booksellers at next month’s BookExpo America.

From the 21st Annual Children’s Book Art Auction and Reception on Tuesday evening, May 26, to the ABC/CBC Tea With Children’s Book Authors & Illustrators on Friday afternoon, May 29, BookExpo America offers a variety of programming with special appeal for children’s booksellers.

There are two exclusive bookseller-publisher networking opportunities for ABA member booksellers at BEA: Meet the Editor and Publicists Speed Dating. Space at each is limited and sign-up is required by May 11.

Booksellers at all ABA member stores are invited to cast their ballots to choose the winners of the 2015 Indies Choice and E.B. White Read-Aloud awards. Up to three booksellers per member store can make a reservation for the Celebration of Bookselling Lunch.

Tickets are now on sale for two perennial favorites for children’s booksellers at BEA. The events, sponsored by the ABC Children’s Group at ABA and the Children’s Book Council, are the Speed Dating Lunch With Children’s Authors and the Tea With Children’s Book Authors & Illustrators.

The 21st Annual Children’s Book Art Auction and Reception at BEA will honor Judy Blume, the pioneering author who helped inspire a new candor in children’s books by daring to write about sex and other “adult” topics that trouble kids. Blume will also be recognized for her fight for the free speech rights of young adult readers.

ABA’s program at BookExpo America 2015 will once again provide members with two exclusive bookseller-publisher networking opportunities. This year’s offerings — “Meet the Editor” and “Publicists Speed Dating” — were developed in response to very favorable feedback to last year’s program at BEA.
