With BEA less than two weeks away, now is a good time to revisit a checklist of recommendations from booksellers who are accomplished at achieving their key business goals at the show while grabbing galleys, attending events, and making new connections.

The ABA Member Lounge at BEA will feature autographings and meet-and-greets by some of today’s top-selling authors, including Jonathan Franzen, seven BEA Book and Author Breakfast speakers, and 16 Indie Next List favorites.

ABA members are invited to schedule a time to talk to Senior Public Policy Analyst David Grogan at BEA about any public policy issues impacting their businesses.

Friday, May 15, is now the deadline for ABA member booksellers to sign up to take advantage of a unique opportunity to meet with editors in their offices in New York City during BookExpo America.

For the second year in a row, the IndieCommerce Team will be in the ABA Member Lounge (Room 214) on the BookExpo America trade show floor to meet one-on-one with booksellers.

On Wednesday, May 27, in conjunction with BookExpo America, Reed Expositions will be hosting the BEA Bloggers Conference, a day packed with education and networking opportunities.

Judy Blume, this year’s ABFE Art Auction honoree, talks about fighting back against censorship and the surprise she felt the first time one of her books was challenged.

On Friday, May 29, at BEA, Carol Fitzgerald, president of ReadingGroupGuides.com, will emcee a speed-dating session designed to give booksellers, librarians, bloggers, and book group leaders a sneak peek at upcoming titles ideal for book group picks.

Programming for children’s booksellers at BEA includes the ABFE Art Auction, the Children’s Book & Author Breakfast, YA and Middle Grade Editors’ Buzz panels, Speed Dating Lunch With Children’s Book Authors, Tea With Children’s Book Authors & Illustrators, and more.

To date, 112 artists and illustrators have donated artwork for the 21st Annual Children’s Book Art Auction and Reception, to be held in conjunction with BEA 2015. Tickets for the May 26 event are on sale now.

ABA’s 2015 Celebration of Bookselling & Author Awards Lunch at BookExpo America will begin a half hour earlier than previously announced.

Booksellers can still sign up for “Meet the Editor,” which is returning to BookExpo America following its debut in 2014, as well as “Publicists Speed Dating,” ABA’s newest bookseller/publisher networking event.

Among the authors scheduled to autograph in the ABA Member Lounge at BEA are Jonathan Franzen, the Opening Day Spotlight speaker, and seven of the eight speakers at this year’s Book and Author Breakfasts.
