Business Is Brisk at PNBA's Spring Trade Show

Business was brisk at the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association (PNBA) Spring 2002 Trade Show Northwest, held at the Coeur d’Alene Resort, March 23 to March 25, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The emphasis was on placing orders, according to a number of attending booksellers. Benefiting most from show orders were smaller publishers, said Thom Chambliss, PNBA’s executive director.

Vigilance Pays for Online Merchants

Over the past few weeks, there has been a slight increase in the number of attempts by individuals to place fraudulent orders at BookSense.com stores, according to Len Vlahos, director of BookSense.com. He noted that these orders are still the very rare exception at BookSense.com stores. However, last week BookSense.com e-mailed stores to alert them to certain types of orders that should be flagged and looked at carefully.
