ABA Welcomes New Bookstore Members

The American Booksellers Association has welcomed five new bookstores as members since August. In addition, a new member store opened at the end of June and another in July, bringing to seven the total number of new stores opening in July. ABACUS Reports Arriving Soon

Booksellers who participated in the 2005 ABACUS survey will soon be receiving their individual store reports. The reports are being sent via e-mail to the address that was supplied when the store submitted financial data through the ABACUS survey form.

First Relief Fund Grants Being Mailed, Phase One Deadline Saturday

The first wave of Phase One Bookseller Relief Fund (BRF) grants will be mailed to 35 booksellers in the hurricane ravaged Gulf Coast by the end of this week. The grants of $500 each are meant to provide assistance for temporary housing, food, clothing, transportation, medical expenses, and/or other personal items lost or damaged during the storms.
