Calling All Vendors! Get Your Free Listing in the Booksellers' Resource Directory

ABA is asking all nonbook vendors of products and services that would be of interest to independent booksellers to submit data for a free listing in the new Booksellers' Resource Directory (formerly the Source Guide). The directory is a valuable online resource for booksellers looking for vendors of new sidelines, office supplies, display fixtures, computer hardware and software, design services, and much more.

Ruminator to Get One-Month Extension

As BTW went to press, it appears that Ruminator Books' major creditor, Macalester College, will be giving the St. Paul, Minnesota, bookstore one more month to raise $500,000 of the more than $1 million it owes the college. The extension of the deadline for Ruminator's closing to the end of February comes as a result of the store's receiving an undisclosed amount of financial support from an anonymous investor.

Still Time to Cast a Vote for the Best of Book Sense

All employees of ABA member bookstores are being encouraged to vote for the Best of Book Sense before the February 16 deadline arrives. The Best of Book Sense project, part of ABA's celebrations of the fifth birthday of the Book Sense marketing program, gives everyone in the bookstore, from staff in the backroom to those at the cashwrap, a voice in selecting the best Book Sense 76 titles of the past five years in adult and children's categories.
