Special Winter Institute Hotel Rate Extended for Third Night
The American Booksellers Association has announced the availability of a third night's accommodations at the special reduced hotel rate for booksellers attending the first annual Winter Institute, to be held on Thursday, January 26, and Friday, January 27, 2006, in Long Beach, California.
On Monday, October 3, Kepler's announced that, after successfully renegotiating its lease with its landlord, the Tan Group, the popular Menlo Park, California, bookstore would reopen this coming Saturday, October 8. The reopening will be preceded by a public rally and celebration at 11:00 a.m. "I am excited and appreciative beyond words," Clark Kepler said in a prepared statement.
On Wednesday, October 5, ABA affinity partner PartnerShip informed customers that effective January 2, 2006, FedEx Corporation would be raising its rates for FedEx Express U.S. domestic and export express package and freight shipments by about 3.5 percent. Average shipping costs will rise 5.5 percent, offset by a two percent reduction in FedEx Express' fuel surcharge.
