The first annual Booksellers' Retreat, organized by the Southeast Booksellers Association (SEBA), provides a unique opportunity for booksellers to leave behind the daily stress of business and get together with their peers. Set for Friday, February 27, to Monday, March 1, at Honey Creek in Waverley, Georgia, "the retreat is a respite for veteran booksellers from across the country to gather somewhere beautiful and affordable for a few days of escape from the daily grind," explained SEBA Executive Director Wanda Jewell. "While participating in activities designed for fun and relaxation, the cross pollination process of great ideas germinating among great booksellers will begin."

Among the many activities offered, booksellers can walk the "Spiritual Labryinth"; get a full-body massage at the "Massage Shack"; challenge themselves on a ropes course; experience a sunset reading with Cassandra King, author of The Sunday Wife and Making Waves (Hyperion); enjoy a "Morning Cup of Tai Chi or Pilates" (Crane Hill) to start the day; and "Bitch and Stitch" while learning how to knit from Random House's Ruth Liebmann.

Honey Creek is located on more than 100 wooded acres on a deep-water tidal creek on the southeast Georgia marsh. The price of $375 includes everything except transportation to and from Honey Creek. For booksellers willing to share a room, the price drops to $300 per bookseller.
