The New Yorker Wants Consumers to Book Their Holidays

The New Yorker has created a new public service advertising campaign to promote book buying this holiday season. The campaign features two pieces of art that include the slogan "Have You Booked Your Holiday?… Something for everyone. Literally." The New Yorker has made the artwork available to anyone who wishes to promote books this season.

The two posters feature cartoons -- one of a caveman giving his partner a wheel because "I remembered there aren't books yet," and another of two women leaving a bookstore, with one noting, "Thank goodness the man who has everything hasn't read everything."

Beneath the cartoons, the posters note: "No matter what the proclivities of the people on your gift list are, rest assured you'll find something special for everyone with just one trip to your local bookstore. This year, save some time and give presents that they'll never stop opening. Season's Readings!"

The images can be downloaded at the Association of American Publishers Web site at www.publishers.org/newyorker/promotion.cfm.
