In celebration of Indies First on Small Business Saturday, which takes place this year on November 25, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, four publishers have developed exclusive content for independent bookstores to share with customers:

  • Fabled Films Press is offering booksellers a special co-op promotion for Tracey Hecht’s The Nocturnals series and the opportunity to receive signed bookplates and broadsides, brigade capes, bookmarks, stickers, and an activity kit.
  • Holiday House is creating a printable one-sheet featuring flash fiction by Jon McGoran to promote his young adult debut Spliced. The one-sheet will be posted on the Holiday House website later this month.
  • Restless Books is offering booksellers a printable chapbook by Chilean-French film director Alejandro Jodorowsky.
  • Workman will send a “beautiful moment” corkboard to bookstores that request one to promote A Book That Takes Its Time: An Unhurried Adventure in Creative Mindfulness by Irene Smit and Astrid van der Hulst. This offer also includes notecards for customers to fill out with their favorite bookstore memories and pin on the board.

Booksellers can review details about each offer on BookWeb and contact their publisher sales reps with requests and questions.

In addition to these special items developed exclusively for Indies First on Small Business Saturday, 25 special publisher offers on frontlist and backlist titles are still available for booksellers to take advantage of.

Booksellers can use the promotional codes listed on a dedicated page in the ABA Book Buyer’s Handbook and in an Excel spreadsheet on the Indies First homepage on BookWeb (a username and password are required to access either document; e-mail [email protected] for login information).
