    View Templates for Book Lists

Responsive, mobile friendly ‘View’ templates for book lists

3 out-of-the-box responsive, mobile friendly Views to display book lists are readily available. All that needs to be done by the store staff are to edit the book lists and plug them into the views.

Working with the Views Send Module

The ‘Views Send’ module enables you to create personalized mass emails from a view: With this feature, if, for example, a store would like to send an email reminder to all ticket holders for an upcoming event, it can create a view to pull up email addresses associated with orders and send a mass email. For now, the email can only be plain text.

NOTE: To have this module enabled on your site please send a request to staff@bookweb.org and we will enable the module and send you confirmation that it has been enabled.

    IndieCommerce Bulk Importer

Welcome to the IndieCommerce custom product bulk importer! This system is designed to help you create and manage a large number of custom products on your IndieCommerce website.

    REQUIRED READING

Before using this system, it's important to be up on the basics of custom products. If you've never created a custom product class before, please see the help documentation on BookWeb.org:

    Rules

The Rules module allows site administrators to create actions that are automatically triggered by various events when certain conditions are met.

    3 PARTS TO RULES

Rules are made up of 3 parts:

    SEO Tools

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a methodology of strategies, techniques, and tactics designed to grow visibility in search engine results. In search results, search engines (Google, Bing, etc.) display links to pages it considers relevant and authoritative, SEO helps to ensure that a site is accessible to a search engine and improves the chances that the site will be found in search results.

SEO methods vary from the technical practices you can achieve on your website, to the creative elements you can use to raise your site’s visibility such as social media marketing.

    Configure A Custom Checkout Pane

Stores have the option to create a custom checkout pane within the IndieCommerce checkout flow. In this example, we configure it to offer gift wrapping to customers during the checkout process.

NOTE: The ‘Custom Checkout Pane’ module needs to be enabled for your site. Please send us a request from the Store Features page (Store > Configuration > Account Information and Preferences > Store Features).

    CONFIGURE THE CHECKOUT PANE

Navigate to:  Store > Configuration > Checkout

    Setting Sales Tax Rates

For any online sale, the general rule is: Only in-state orders are taxed. Out-of-state orders are never taxed. So, if an order is shipped to an address within the state or is being picked up at the store, the order is taxed and the store is responsible for remitting this tax to their respective state.

    Affiliate Program

An affiliate program is a marketing tool that would allow approved participants to earn commissions by placing unique links on their website referring customers back to your website, increasing sales and traffic through your website. How does it work? Once you have accepted someone as an affiliate, they can set up links on their site that will drive traffic to your site. Customers who follow those links are tracked, and if a sale happens during that customer visit, the affiliate commissions are determined (In the end the store is responsible for paying the affiliates directly).

    Browse Books by BISAC

The Browse Book block, which can be found on the block administration page (Structure > Blocks), consists of every BISAC category available. Selecting a category changes the block menu and provides sub-categories within that category and updates the books displayed accordingly.

    Example:

    Embedding Video

In order to place a video on your website, the video must first be uploaded to a third party, such as YouTube*. You can then obtain an ‘embed’ code which can be placed on your website.

    Available Reports

There are several reports available to you that you can use to gain insights into sales on your website, who is using your website and other useful information. You can use these reports as they are or you may customize them to suit your needs.

    Navigate to: Store > Reports

    Creating Webforms

The Webform module allows you to collect information from site visitors. This module gives you the ability to create surveys, multi-page questionnaires, contest forms etc. Webform features a basic analysis of the results collected, which can be downloaded from the website.

NOTE: Webform will be enabled on IC sites upon request. Please send us a request from the Store Features page (Store > Configuration > Account Information and Preferences > Store Features).
