Winter Institute Registration Continues

With just six weeks left until the start of the American Booksellers Association's inaugural Winter Institute, registration for the event continues, but rooms at California's Long Beach Hilton, the host hotel, are quickly disappearing.

The Winter Institute's comprehensive education program, which is free to all ABA member booksellers, both owners and staff, begins at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, and runs through 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 27.

Rooms at the Hilton at a special rate of $112 per night for Institute participants are currently sold out for Wednesday night, January 25, and they are expected to very soon sell out for Friday night as well. All reservations are booked on a first-come, first-served basis.

Booksellers whose travel plans necessitate a room for Wednesday evening, the 25th, should contact ABA's Margaret Petrie at [email protected] or (800) 637-0037, ext. 6614. ABA will try its best to help out.

Discounted room rates at the Long Beach Hilton are made possible by support from BookExpo America, Baker & Taylor, Ingram Book Group, and publisher partners HarperCollins, Hyperion, Penguin Group for Young Readers, Perseus Books Group, Random House, Scholastic, Time Warner Book Group, and Workman.
