Say It in Pictures! A Visual Subway Travel Guide From Hotel ABA to the Javits Center

As MapQuest, Google Maps, and other online sources for travel directions will tell you, visually rendered digital information can be far more robust that many kilobytes of written content. (Or, as we used to say in the 20th century: A picture is worth a thousand words.)

With that in mind, ABA has created an online visual guide to getting from Hotel ABA in Brooklyn to the Javits Convention Center by subway.

Hotel ABA is right across the street from a subway stop, and ABA members will be receiving in their welcome bags a New York City subway MetroCard preloaded with six trips (three round trip fares). The cards will be packaged with subway directions to and from the convention center. ABA recommends that booksellers use the subway to travel to the Javits Center, especially on Friday, when traffic in lower Manhattan will be the heaviest.

But to orient yourself before arrival, take ABA's guided visual tour of the commute, complete with written directions, helpful photos of the neighborhood and landmarks along the way, and maps, put together by our very own Kristen Gilligan. Having a focused mental picture of the journey will help immensely in avoiding confusion and delay.
