Janet LundJanet Lund, a beloved teacher and a children’s bookseller at The King’s English Bookshop in Salt Lake City, Utah, died after a long illness on June 9, 2017.

Lund was known for her passion for and knowledge of children’s literature, as well as her unerring ability, on display daily at The King’s English for many years, to find just the right book for each child. Legions of kids learned to read and love books because of Lund’s enthusiasm, and many of those children, now grown, bring their own children into the bookshop to share in the joy of the written word.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Lund was born in Ithaca, New York, in 1951. She received her undergraduate degree at Lewis & Clark College and her graduate degree in education at the University of Utah.

She is survived by her daughter, Anna; her sisters, Marylyn Moe and Debra (Jim) Gabriel; and caregiver and friend Thomas Lund.

Memorial services were held on June 14 at Larkin Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested gifts go to the Children’s Service Society, located at 124 South 400 East in Salt Lake City, Utah.
