NEIBA Creates Rusty Drugan Scholarship

This week, the New England Independent Booksellers Association announced the establishment of the Rusty Drugan Scholarship, in memory of Wayne "Rusty" Drugan, executive director of NEIBA from 1992 to 2006. The scholarship includes three nights at the NEIBA 2007 Trade Show Headquarters Hotel and two tickets to each meal function.

The Rusty Drugan Scholarship will be awarded annually. This year, the Book Publishers Representatives of New England will be making a contribution.

Applicants must presently be working fulltime in a NEIBA member bookstore and have been working for at least a year. Candidates may apply directly for the scholarship or be nominated by others in the book industry. If you are nominating yourself, describe in detail your background, the reasons for your interest in the award, and include a copy of your rsum. If you are nominating someone else, indicate in detail why you are nominating this person. Nominations/applications must include all the following information for both the applicant and the nominator: Name, Store Name, Current Position, and Store Address.
