Limited ABA Services Post-Hurricane Sandy

Dear ABA Members,

We hope this e-mail finds you safe and sound, especially those who live and work in the areas affected by this week’s storm. Due to ongoing Hurricane Sandy-related power, phone line, and Internet outages in New York, ABA operations are significantly affected. Our staff’s ability to receive and to respond to communications is very limited. Thank you for your patience as we try to respond to your e-mails and phone calls as quickly as possible.

ABA staff is currently working to reinstate downed services or to provide alternatives. Please be aware that BookWeb.org and the Book Buyer’s Handbook are down, and this week’s Indie Bestsellers List and issue of Bookselling This Week have been cancelled.

For updated information, please follow our social media links on http://news.bookweb.org, where we will be posting updates.

Booksellers who have questions about Kobo implementation should e-mail [email protected] or [email protected].

Member stores affected by Hurricane Sandy that are LIBRIS policyholders should contact LIBRIS at (888) 694-8585 or at [email protected].

Owners and employees of ABA member bookstores who are experiencing an emergency financial hardship should contact the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (BINC) at www.bincfoundation.org; [email protected]; or (866) 733-9064.

ABA staff is safe and sound, and we thank you for all your expressions of concern. We look forward to getting back up to speed as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Oren Teicher
CEO, American Booksellers Association
