A Gift Card Prep Reminder

A recent survey of retail spending and trends commissioned by Deloitte & Touche USA concludes that gift cards will continue to be the top gift purchase this holiday season. The report notes that approximately 66 percent of consumers are planning to buy an average of 4.6 gift cards (up from 3.9 in 2005).

As stores gear up for these post-Thanksgiving shoppers, Book Sense sends a reminder to make sure that all cash-wrap staff is trained to activate and redeem gift cards and that they know what to do if they encounter a technical problem.

A new, updated WebPOS.givex.com User Guide and FAQ (with screen shots) is now available.

Twenty-four-hour customer service is available at (800) 962-4935 on weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at (800) 265-8212 during the evenings and on weekends. For answers to less urgent questions, booksellers can get help by sending an e-mail to [email protected].

In addition, all stores in the Book Sense Gift Card Program can use the IVR (Interactive Voice Response system) as a back-up if their primary form of processing is unavailable.
