The American Independent Business Alliance (AMIBA) has released its holiday campaign graphics and event ideas, which booksellers can use alone or in conjunction with the many offerings in ABA’s Designs and Downloads, to promote shopping locally this season.

AMIBA’s downloadable resources include ads and posters, which can be customized with a store’s logo; ideas to promote more conscious purchasing from local independent businesses; and a copy of AMIBA’s buy local campaign primer.

Also available is a holiday-themed commentary written by AMIBA Co-director Jeff Milchen, who points out the rise in local shopping during the holidays –– a positive sign for indie retailers.

“We welcome anyone interested to adapt and customize the piece with local examples to submit as a co-written article to local publications,” said Milchen. “We also encourage booksellers not only to use any of the many free ads, posters, and gift tags through their own stores, websites and social media outlets, but to circulate them to other local businesses and media outlets — that way you’ll be reaching an audience far beyond your own patrons.”
