What's New:Be You! Greeting Cards Update Stores that have ordered the Set of 3 Greeting Cards from Be You! Picture Book by Peter H. Reynolds will receive their set(s) directly from Scholastic. They will be shipped through TSI via UPS and arrive by April 12. Openings for 2025–2026 Indie Bookstore Day Advisory Committee Have ideas for next year’s Independent Bookstore Day? We have openings in the Indie Bookstore Day Advisory Committee! The Advisory Committee provides feedback on ideas for proposed items as well as promotional aspects from now through next April. It is made up of one or two booksellers from each of the regional associations. To learn more and submit your name for consideration, complete this Google Form by Monday, April 8. Our first meeting will be mid-May with the current committee, where we’ll debrief about this past year! You must be a member of a regional association to participate. April To-Do’s We recommend checking out the Planning Guide regularly for upcoming to-do’s! Now is a good time to: - Submit your plans to ABA.
- Submitted store plans have been added to the IndieBound blog post, which will be promoted in April on social media! Plans will be added on a rolling basis as they are submitted. Submit your plans to ABA (including crawls and passport programs).
- Add Exclusives to your IndieCommerce or IndieLite sites.
- On Monday, March 11, IndieCommerce pushed the Indie Bookstore Day 2024 exclusives to all participating IndieCommerce and IndieLite sites. This update and the Independent Bookstore Day feature on IndieCommerce (IC 1.0) and IndieLite websites were covered in the webinar. (Recording and Help Document are now available.)
- Join in on Spirit Week!
- Starting Monday, April 22, join fellow booksellers for Independent Bookstore Day Spirit Week! Feel free to share the digital assets, use the hashtag #BookstoreSpiritWeek, and take part in the daily themes leading up to Indie Bookstore Day on April 27. Here are the Spirit Week holidays:
- Monday, April 22: Silly Sock Day
- Tuesday, April 23: Plaid Tuesday
- Wednesday, April 24: On Wednesdays We Wear Bookstore Shirts
- Thursday, April 25: Book Character Dress-Up Day
- Friday, April 26: YOUR store’s Spirit Day
