The ABA Board of Directors met and approved the ABA Nominating Committee’s recommendation of candidates to stand for election to three-year terms as Directors on the ABA Board.

Advocacy Updates
 

Last week, American Booksellers for Free Expression (ABFE) launched an emergency advocacy campaign against Idaho HB 384, Idaho’s book ban bill based on an overbroad and discriminatory definition of obscenity. The bill was ultimately sent back to committee thanks to the amazing organizing of Idaho book folks, including ABA members. We interviewed Laura DeLaney about the bill and the rally to oppose it on ABFE’s social media for Free Expression Friday.

In addition to our ongoing organizing for the Credit Card Competition Act fly-in next week, the Advocacy team has been coordinating allies to demand that the Small Business Administration drop Amazon as a sponsor of National Small Business Week. Stay tuned for details of how you can get involved.
