ABA is back in DC this week to advocate for the shared interests of booksellers. Meetings with lawmakers will focus on antitrust issues related to the FTC’s recent complaint against Amazon as well as advocacy for the Credit Card Competition Act, which would introduce competition to credit card processing and lower fees for consumers and small businesses. This afternoon, ABA hosted a webinar with Matt Nosanchuk, Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights. Nosanchuk discussed the civil rights implications of book bans and what the Department of Education’s OCR can do about it. Stay tuned for more information about how you can report violations. |
