Winter Institute Registration Opens Monday at 1:00 pm ET
 

Registration for ABA’s 17th annual Winter Institute (Wi2022) will open on Monday, September 20 at 1:00 pm ET. You must be logged in to BookWeb.org to register. If you are unsure of your login credentials, email [email protected].

This four-day event will offer an exciting lineup of keynote presentations, authors, rep picks sessions, educational programming, social events, poetry, IndieCommerce one-on-ones, and more. 

The event fee is $225 per bookseller, with a maximum of three booksellers per ABA member store. Beginning October 6, registrants will be able to book a reservation for the ABA Wi2022 hotel block at a nightly group rate of $129 plus tax. A credit card is required at time of booking to guarantee all reservations. Details will be shared prior to October 6.

Booksellers will also be able to register for Paz & Associates' workshop “Introduction to Retail Bookselling.” The workshop is open to all booksellers, but is limited to three booksellers per ABA member company. Admission to Winter Institute is optional but guaranteed; the $225 Wi2022 registration fee applies.

Here is the Indie Sci-Fi/Fantasy Bestseller List, based on sales at independent bookstores nationwide for the eight-week period ending September 12, 2021.

Bookstores with Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans of $150,000 or less can apply for direct forgiveness through the Small Business Administration's PPP forgiveness portal. If your lender participates in the new portal, you can apply for loan forgiveness directly through the SBA. Borrowers that need assistance or have questions should call (877) 552-2692, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am - 8:00 pm ET. Learn if your lender participates and how to apply for direct forgiveness.
