Dear Booksellers,
This is your last official Monday update as ABA migrates to a new schedule for sharing information with members. While your Monday and Friday updates are going away, your Wednesday issue of Bookselling This Week (BTW) is getting a new design and will be sent out twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays at noon ET. In the coming weeks, the quantity of emails coming from ABA will slow as all important information gets packed into the new BTW. Be sure to read it! The first issue debuts on Tuesday, April 20. What to Do Fill out this brief survey no later than 6:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, April 14, to help ABA prepare for its annual publisher meetings where we advocate on behalf of bookstores.
Applications are due on April 15 for the Book Industry Charitable Foundation’s (Binc) higher education scholarship program. The program supports bookstore and comic book shop owners and employees, and former Borders Group employees, by helping their dependents, spouses, and partners pursue their higher education goals.

Submit your store’s ballot now for the ABA Board of Directors election. One vote may be cast by each store. Ballots are due April 27.
Contact the Small Business Administration (SBA) if you wish to request an Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) increase. The SBA recently increased the maximum loan amount from $150,000 to $500,000. If your store is eligible for an increase, look for an email from @sba.gov or @updates.sba.gov email addresses with more instructions. See a sample email with important instructions here. |
