This is my last update of the week. We’ll be sending Bookselling This Week out on Wednesday, then it will be Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Indies First/Small Business Saturday, and then Cyber Monday/Cider Monday and Giving Tuesday — the holiday season will have officially begun. I hope the season is a joyful and profitable one for all of you. May you feel the support and love of your communities, may they show it with their dollars, and may you find time to spend with your loved ones, whether virtually or in person. This year has been a hard one for everyone, yet there is still so much to be thankful for. I’m thankful for the extraordinary group of people I work with at ABA. Don’t let the name fool you; behind the corporate-sounding acronym is a group of 36 individuals who are smart, funny, hard-working, kind, compassionate people who want nothing more than to support your stores and see them succeed. I am moved daily by their commitment and grateful to spend my days with them. Even on Zoom. And I know I speak for all of them when I say that we are thankful for all of you. Your efforts awe us and your bookstores inspire us. Thank you for sharing the books you love and for making the world a little better, one bookstore at a time. ABA is here for all of you.
