Next Week’s Events Coffee Break: Tuesday, November 3, at 3:00 p.m. ET (yes, it’s election day) Join us for an opportunity to share support, ask questions, and trade best practices. All booksellers are welcome. If you’ve never attended this event before, it’s a great way to hear what’s working well at other stores and crowdsource solutions to any challenges you’re facing at your store. Email [email protected] for Zoom login details. Marketing Meetup: Open Conversation, Thursday, November 5, at 1:00 p.m. ET This session will not have any specific guest speakers. Instead, booksellers are invited to partake in an open conversation about what marketing ideas worked and didn't work this year, marketing plans for the upcoming year, marketing meetup topics that stores benefited from over the past year, and what booksellers might like to see covered during meetups in 2021. BIPOC Coffee Break: Thursday, November 5, at 6:00 p.m. ET A meeting space for BIPOC — Black, Indigenous, or People of Color — booksellers and bookstore owners to gather for connection, support, community, resources, and networking. This will be a non-hosted opportunity; there will not be a facilitator and ABA staff will not be in attendance. Booksellers and store owners interested in attending should email [email protected] for the Zoom information. Each BIPOC Coffee Break meeting has a new password, so please be sure to email for details. (Please indicate if you would be willing to be the Zoom host to let people in from the waiting room.)
And we’ll close out the week with some words from The New York Times to booksellers... “We...celebrate the tenacity, resilience, and hard work of booksellers. We wish you good health and endurance through this next leg of 2020.” ABA is here for all of you. Please reach out if there is anything we can help with. Members can contact me directly, or email the Membership, Advocacy, or IndieCommerce teams. Best, Allison |
