IndieCommerce Alert Events Small Business Majority Webinar on Retail Survivors on August 27 at 2:00 pm ET: As stores started reopening, some retailers not only survived, but they actually beat last year’s numbers. How did they do it? Join Retail Smart Guys and Small Business Majority for an interactive webinar that will share retail survivors’ successful actions, including their marketing methods, inventory and cash flow planning, store layouts, and more. It’s the information you need to make sure your store not only survives but thrives. Register here. Coffee Break on September 1 at 3:00 pm ET: This session has been reprogrammed to focus on buying monthly versus seasonally. More information can be found here. Booksellers who want to attend should email [email protected] if they don’t already have the Coffee Break meeting credentials. Marketing Meetup on September 3 at 1:00 pm ET: This session will focus on holiday season marketing. More information can be found here. Booksellers who want to attend should register here. BIPOC Coffee Break on September 3 at 6:00 pm ET: The next Coffee Break meeting space for BIPOC — Black, Indigenous, or People of Color — booksellers and bookstore owners to gather for connection, support, community, resources, and networking. (BIPOC allies and booksellers who do not identify as BIPOC should not plan to attend.) Participants surveyed were split on whether to have a facilitator for these meetups. While the last two sessions did not have a facilitator, this session will be facilitated by Chief Executive and Founder of Diversity Decoder Linda Dunbar, a PR and corporate communications consultant skilled as a facilitator and communicator. Identifying as a Black-American, Afro-Caribbean, and Jamaican-American woman with a background in publishing, Linda’s skills and insights may inform the discussion in whatever way participants choose to in the moment. More information can be found here. Booksellers who want to attend should email [email protected] for the meeting-specific credentials. (Please note: This meeting ID and password are specific to the September 3 meetup.)
