February 24, 2016 Where Do Your Web Site Visitors Come From?Last week I asked where you thought visitors to your web site were coming from. Here are the survey results based on your responses: I compared these results to where Google says IndieCommerce traffic comes from and found some interesting differences. According to Google Analytics, Google search is indeed the #1 source of Web traffic to most stores. Referrals #2, Social media is #3, Email marketing #4, Paid search #5 and Display advertising #6. Over the next few weeks we'll discuss different techniques for increasing traffic and sales through each of these channels. IndieCommerce WebinarsWebinars will now be held on Tuesdays from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Eastern Time, and will be repeated on Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to noon, Eastern Time. Large book cover image on the product pageYou now have an option to display the large cover image on the book product page. This option has been added as a Store Preference, and can be enabled from the Store Preferences page on your website: Easy access to the Store Pricing ToolWe have made it easy to apply discounts / markup to books by ISBN - A Store Pricing tab has been added to the product page. This tab will take you to the Store Pricing Tool, to add or edit the store pricing entry for this ISBN. "Variable Price" Module, Great for Gift CardsWe have a new "Variable Price" feature for IndieCommerce sites. When added to a product, this feature will allow customers to choose what they want to pay. This is a perfect fit for gift cards where customers can enter any gift card denomination of their choice. (At present, gift card denominations are fixed). The "Variable Price" feature can also be used for "Donations". This module will be enabled on IndieCommerce sites upon request. You may submit your request from the Store Features page on your website: Store -> Configuration -> Account Information and Preferences -> Store Features Thanks for reading. Feel free to email us with any thoughts, questions, or suggestions. The IndieCommerce team For past editions of IndieCommunication, visit this page. |
