The results of balloting by the bookstore members of the American Booksellers Association to elect three directors to serve three-year terms on the ABA Board (2014–2017) are now official.

Maria Rodriguez, ABA’s newest staff member, will be providing office support and membership assistance.

The American Booksellers Association’s Board of Directors met from April 4 – 6, 2014, in San Antonio, Texas, just prior to ABA’s first stand-alone ABC Children’s Institute.

The Spring Forum schedule wraps up with programs at ABA’s office in White Plains, New York, on Tuesday, April 29, and at the New England Independent Booksellers Association’s All About the Books! in Boston, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, April 30.

Ballots to elect three directors to serve three-year terms on ABA’s Board of Directors must be cast by midnight EDT on April 30, 2014, in order to be counted.

ABA will hold its Annual Membership Meeting on Thursday, May 29, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Room 1E10/11 of the Javits Convention Center during BEA. The Annual Meeting will be preceded by the Town Hall Meeting.

In his bimonthly letter to members, ABA CEO Oren Teicher discusses topics raised at the recent Spring Forums and invites booksellers to take advantage of upcoming educational opportunities, including two new programs that provide booksellers with a chance to meet with publishers at BEA.

The winners of the 2014 Indies Choice Book Awards and the E.B. White Read-Aloud Awards, as voted by independent booksellers nationwide, were announced today by the American Booksellers Association.

All main store members of the American Booksellers Association will be receiving an e-mail on Monday, March 31, with a link to a ballot to elect three directors to serve three-year terms (2014 – 2017) on the ABA Board.

ABA’s Spring Forum schedule continues this Sunday with a program in San Francisco in conjunction with NCIBA’s Spring Gathering and concludes at the end of April with events in White Plains, New York, and Boston, Massachusetts.
