Obituary – Dan Jaffe, California Bookseller Noted for His Ties to Community

Dan Jaffe, co-owner of Copperfield’s Books in Petaluma, California, and general manager of the entire group of eight Copperfield’s stores, died this month at the age of 50. The cause was apparently a heart attack, said colleague Tom Montan, who noted that Jaffe died at home sometime after March 16.

ABA/Book Sense Booth at BEA Features Key Information for Independents -- And Some of Their Favorite Authors

Booksellers on the trade floor at this year’s BookExpo America, which will be open from May 3 to 5, at the Jacob K. This week, BTW presents a preview of the latest Book Sense 76 list, but, increasingly, booksellers are using a backlist title’s selection as a Book Sense pick as an ongoing marketing tool, promoting the selection, for instance, in shelf-talkers or by stickering titles.
