BIPOC Community

Monthly, Second Wednesday, 7 pm ET
A closed space for BIPOC — Black, Indigenous, or People of Color — booksellers & BIPOC bookstore owners only.

LGBTQIA2S+ Community

Monthly, Third Thursday, 7 pm ET
A closed space for LGBTQIA2S+ booksellers and LGBTQIA2S+ bookstore owners only.

Disability Community

Monthly, Third Tuesday, 7 pm ET
A closed space for Disabled-identifying booksellers and bookstore owners and those exploring their relationship to Disability identity. Booksellers who are thinking of attending but aren't quite sure, don’t self-reject! The term Disability applies to any condition of the body or mind to any degree.

Neurodiverse Community

Monthly, First Wednesday, 7 pm ET
A closed space for Neurodivergent-identifying booksellers and bookstore owners and those exploring their relationship to Neurodiversity. Booksellers who are thinking of attending but aren't quite sure, don’t self-reject! The term Neurodiverse applies to all neurodivergent neurotypes.

While allies are greatly appreciated, those who do not identify personally as a member of the BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, Disability, and/or Neurodivergent community should not plan to attend that group’s coinciding meetup.

All sessions are an opportunity to socialize and learn from fellow booksellers and experts on a range of topics relevant to bookselling today.

ABA Shop Talk
Held the first Tuesday of every month at 3 pm ET and the last Tuesday of the month at 10 pm ET.
Open conversation format to share best practices, talk about business, and crowdsource ideas & solutions to problems. Other ShopTalks are held throughout the year for smaller subsets of groups see the calendar for details.

ABA Marketing Meetup
Monthly, First Thursday,  1 pm ET
A series of virtual meetings focused on the importance of marketing as a tool to increase retention, boost revenue, meet demand, and promote your overall business.

ABA Technology Meetup
Monthly, Second Thursday, 1 pm ET
A series of virtual meetings that focus on delivering best practices & tips for incorporating tech-related tools into your business.
 

Management Book Club

Monthly on first Thursdays at 3pm Pacific and third Wednesdays at 3pm Eastern.

Join other bookstore managers and owners to discuss selected management books, share best practices in staff management, solicit advice on staff development, and grow their skills as leaders in their stores.
