Here’s the latest on the new Indie App, which allows customers to purchase Kobo eBooks through smartphones, computers, and tablets and have them credited to a local participating ABA member bookstore.

This month, Kobo Writing Life, Kobo’s do-it-yourself eBook publishing platform, sponsored a very successful event at Jan’s Paperbacks that brought together independent booksellers and local authors. Now, Kobo would like to replicate the event at other stores throughout the country.

Kobo has designed a way to provide stores with dedicated tracking links for downloads of the Kobo Reading App, so customers who read eBooks on devices other than eReaders can purchase books through smartphones, computers, and tablets and have them credited to the store.

Bookstores participating in ABA’s Kobo eBook and eReader program can now place orders on a selection of new and recently released Kobo eReaders.

ABA announced this week that a select group of the new line of Kobo eReaders and tablets will soon be available for order from Ingram: the Kobo Aura and Kobo Aura HD eReaders and the Kobo Arc and Kobo Arc HD tablets. In connection with the launch, Kobo is phasing out the Kobo Mini and the Kobo Arc 16G, 32G, and 64G.
