BTW logoNext week, the American Booksellers Association will launch the newly redesigned Bookselling This Week e-newsletter. This cleaner, modernized, and user-friendly newsletter format will feature a new logo as well as an emphasis on the newsletter’s acronym and its new tagline: “BTW: The Source for Independent Bookselling.”

For the past several months, ABA has been working on a new look and organization for the Wednesday afternoon e-newsletter. Revisions and changes have been made based on feedback from ABA member booksellers on the Marketing Task Force and the Booksellers Advisory Council, as well as on responses from ABA’s recent communications audit and member satisfaction surveys.

As part of the new design, articles will be grouped by topic for easier browsing and sharing with staff. In addition, photos will be more prominent throughout the newsletter; more white space will allow for an easier read; and convenient links to ABA’s social media pages will help booksellers find us online.

The new design will also include a fun “one-second survey,” which will ask booksellers for quick input on a variety of topics.

Marketing Task Force member Nicole Sullivan, owner of BookBar in Denver, Colorado, said she likes the look and feel of the new BTW e-newsletter. “It seems more engaging and digestible. Two thumbs up from me... Great work.”

Stephanie Schindhelm, marketing and promotions manager at Boulder Book Store in Boulder, Colorado, said, “I love the new look for the newsletter, it’s much more eye-catching and browser-friendly! I really like having the articles broken out by subject; that makes it easier for me to zero in on the articles that are most relevant to me — that way I’m not missing something important during busy times.”

Watch for the newly redesigned BTW e-newsletter to debut next week, and invite staff members to subscribe now. As always, ABA values the opportunity to share breaking news and updates about its bookstore members; BTW welcomes all comments, suggestions, queries, and letters to the editor at [email protected].
