A Year of Bookstore Profitability at ABA's Spring ForumsAt the American Booksellers Association’s 10 Spring Forums, which concluded last week, booksellers participated in an open forum discussion and an educational session focusing on the issues independent booksellers face in staying profitable.

The education session, “A Year of Bookstore Profitability,” presented a year-long calendar of effective steps that bookstores can implement — as well as key cost-saving programs — to boost sales and improve the bottom line. The session was designed for all bookstore employees to participate in and share the initiatives they use to improve profitability each quarter.

The PowerPoint presentation from the session, which breaks down key tasks for each quarter in the categories of operations, industry events, literary awards, marketing, finances, and holidays and celebrations, is now available in ABA’s Education Curriculum on Bookweb.org.
