On April 20, PBS and The Great American Read revealed the list of America’s 100 best-loved novels, kicking off the eight-part television and online series designed to spark a national conversation about reading. This is an excellent opportunity to promote this event and display these 100 titles for sale on your website. If you need assistance, contact [email protected].

Quick Start Webinar Coming Up on May 10

Want to learn how customers find your website and what they are doing once they get there? Are you looking for a way to drive customers from the web to your physical store? Google has some amazing free tools that can help. In this “Quick Start” webinar, IndieCommerce staff will demonstrate how to get started with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Google My Business. Sign up now to join the IndieCommerce team on May 10 at 2:00 p.m.

Do We Know You?

There are times when IndieCommerce staff need to reach out to someone at your store about your website. If your contact information is not correct, they may not be able to reach the right person. Please take a few minutes to update your store’s contact information for Store Owner, Main Contact, and Contact for Online Orders. Check it out here: Store > Configuration > Store > Basic Information. If you need assistance, contact [email protected].

We’re Talking Mobile-Friendly Websites

Last week’s webinar by IndieCommerce Specialist Chanthee Keokhaw is now online. It covers the importance of mobile-friendly websites, tools available to achieve your goals, and what to consider when you plan your website. The webinar runs for just over 60 minutes and is available on BookWeb here.

HTTPs Everywhere: Is Your Store Ready?

With the July 2018 deadline looming, time is running out to make your IndieCommerce website “HTTPs everywhere” compliant. If you’ve taken care of this or your store uses IndieLite, you’re all set and you can move on to the next story with a clear conscience.

If your website has not been changed to HTTPs everywhere, this is your last opportunity to work with the IndieCommerce team to transition your site. If they don’t hear from you by May 10, they will be making the move for you. It’s easier and cleaner for IndieCommerce staff to work with you than for them to do it without your assistance. Make an appointment now.

Sign Up for a One-On-One at BookExpo in NYC

Booksellers with questions about IndieCommerce, IndieLite, selling books online, or marketing their stores online are invited to visit with a member of the IndieCommerce team in the ABA Member Lounge (Booth 721) at BookExpo 2018.

Since time slots for the meetings are limited, booksellers will be asked to choose multiple options when they sign up, though an effort will be made to accommodate a bookseller’s first choice. An e-mail confirmation will be sent to you prior to BookExpo with an appointment date and time.

Booksellers are encouraged to send their thoughts, questions, or suggestions via e-mail to IndieCommerce staff at any time.

Past editions of IndieCommunication are available on the IndieCommerce Updates page on BookWeb.org.
