Bookseller-to-Bookseller Facebook Group Launches Ahead of Winter Institute

Booksellers who are registered for the American Booksellers Association’s 12th annual Winter Institute (Wi12) can now join a Facebook group dedicated to online bookseller-to-bookseller networking in advance of the event’s Friday, January 27, kickoff in Minneapolis. Over the next two weeks, group members are encouraged to introduce themselves, link back to store social media pages, and get to know the other booksellers who will be in Minneapolis.

To join the group, booksellers should log into their Facebook profiles, navigate to the ABA Winter Institute group, and click Join Group in the top-right corner of the discussion page. Once an admin approves your request to join, you will be able to see posts, add comments, and set notification preferences (allow up to 24 hours for approval).

Booksellers must be registered to attend Winter Institute to join the ABA Winter Institute Facebook group. The group is closed to non-members, and only approved members of the group can see posts. Any group member can invite other Facebook users to join, but an admin must approve them. Business pages cannot join Facebook groups as pages, so booksellers will need to log in to their individual user profiles to request access.

The hashtag for Winter Institute is #Wi12.

Booksellers with questions about accessing the Facebook group or social media at Winter Institute should e-mail ABA Member Relationship and Social Media Manager Catherine Cusick
