Booksellers will have the opportunity to meet face to face with representatives of 14 mostly small- and mid-size companies from 2:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon, January 30, during the first-ever “publisher consultations” at a Winter Institute.

The participating publishers, who are mostly new to the Winter Institute, are AdventureKEEN, City Lights, Coach House Books, Dundurn, Hawthorne Books & Literary Arts, Independent Publishers Group (IPG), Pegasus Books, Phaidon, The Quarto Group, Red Wheel/Weiser/Conari, Second Story Press, Shadow Mountain Publishing, Verso, and the Wisconsin Historical Society Press.

Booksellers are invited to meet with publisher representatives on a walk-in basis in the Great Lakes Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis. Publishers will chat with booksellers about their company’s publishing programs and are invited to bring copies of their books to support their presentations, with additional copies for giveaway.

The publisher consultations will enable booksellers to connect with smaller publishers whose limited marketing budgets prohibit them from participating in the institute in a larger way. Consultation tables will be spread out in a large ballroom so booksellers and publishers will be able to have discreet conversations.

Many of the Publisher Consultation participants will also be hosting authors at the Wi12 Closing Reception on Monday evening, January 30.
